NYTSJI 2013: Under Way

The reporter’s notebooks are fresh. The memory cards are formatted. The pens are full of ink.

The 2013 class of The New York Times Student Journalism Institute held its first day in the newsroom recently with 23 students from across the country ready to report all the news that’s  fit to print … and more. The college journalists selected for the two-week program have interned at news outlets like The Seattle Times and the Scripps Howard Foundation Wire in Washington, D.C.

While many in this year’s class have graduated from their respective educational institutions, they are all ready to learn as much as they can from the editors and reporters of The New York Times, The Boston Globe and the University of Arizona.

Stay tuned for their words, pictures and designs and the countless edits from long nights and early mornings in Tucson.
